I am super excited to share with you three of the fabric collections I designed exclusively for Spotlight in Australia.
The Nouveau Meadow collection is very special to me because it features hand-drawn ink outlines. It is inspired in the lush meadows that flower in the springtime and are visited by the hummingbirds (my favorite birds).
I love creating detailed illustrations in ink, and those details are preserved perfectly in the fabric.
Look at the awesome quilt that Spotlight created using the fabrics in these collection:
The Sweet Hydrangea is one of my all time favorite collections so I was super excited to get the samples and see how it turned out! Birds and flowers are a recurrent theme in my work because I find nature to be my biggest source of inspiration. Who can resist a garden full of Hydrangeas, mushrooms, berries, birds and bees?
I love the level of detail in the fabric, it retains that gouche/hand-drawn feel that I wanted to achieve in it.
Finally, here´s the Flourishing Poppies collection:
This one was inspired by fields of poppies and their beautiful buds. This is a vector design mixed with handmade textures in the background.
Poppies are such unique flowers and they also represent the soldiers who have died at war.
I think the reds and black make such a statement. I can´t wait to see what they look like in sewn products.
I hope you enjoy these as much as I did when I designed them. If you want to share your creations, you can tag me @sandrabowersart on Instagram.
